Probably 2-3 months of very troublesome living. Then, if I match the learning curve and don't have to contend with winter, longer.

With a water source I think I could do quite well. There is a magazine out which of course I cannot remember the name of at the moment, but they did a whole thing about surviving in the wild and apparently, eating berries alone won't cut it for people cuz you get diarrhea. They advise you to eat bugs. One guy even advised you to eat deer poop. can you imagine? Personally, I would rather live off my own fat than eat deer poop or bugs (no matter how good the protein source). I'm pretty resourceful and with enough time I'm sure I could build some kind of permanent structure and end up living quite nicely off the grid. I'm good at growing stuff and so long as I could discover some sort of bean to grow, I could make it as a vegetarian. I don't take any meds and I'm sure living off the land would probably put me in the best shape of my life after a while. Unfortunately, my man has juvenile diabetes so he would only last as long as his meds did. Disturbing thought really. I can't imagine my life without him.
