Done painting my leather jacket, so it's now gone from black to a lovely shiny pewter. Any one who knows me will know that obviously, I was inspired by Adam Lambert to be more fabulous. :)

Here's a photo progression. This was done over the period of about a week. Also, most of the photos have hovertext, so pause your mouse over 'em for my notes ( Read more... )

It took some work. I ordered the paint and stuff online, it's made specially for leather: http://www.turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/paint.html
The hardest part was getting the original finish off the leather, took a lot of scrubbing. I felt that in my hand for a day after! XD Then I just put on a few laters of the pewter leather paint, and a waterproofing finisher on top of that.

lololol, funnily enough, I have shoes that match too! XD These: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/zigi+soho+trifecta+flat?prodId=201588

Heh, yeah, I knew he could draw, but this was something of a masterpiece! I was really impressed that he got the font right, just drawing freehand from a reference.

Thanks. :) And the shoes are from a different company. I wouldn't wear them all at the same time tho (well, maybe the shoes and bag), that would be too much!

I didn't know you could paint a leather jacket! Can you do this to black leather boots?! *imagines* Love the swirly design on the bag. :)

Your brother's talented. The way Sam and Dean are staring out the window reminds me of them doing their recon drive-by in the Ghostfacers episode.

Oh, you definitely can do the same for boots! Pretty much anything leather, really. I got all the paint supplies from this website: http://www.turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/paint.html
They've got loads of colors, and helpful instructions for beginners. :) I say go for it!

Yeah, I instantly recognized the scene from that shot where they're on some remote highway, from S1 or 2 I think it was. He's a little sweetheart (tho a troublemaker too!)
