well, i'm kind of a convert.

eventually i'll write a post about real life, in which i'm not preachy. sorry i didn't start today.

I've been dealing with minor back pain for the past 4-5 months now. Last week it started getting to be not so minor anymore. So I went and had a massage, and while it helped a bit, it didn't clear it up. By the end of last week i was in serious pain which sort of stabilized over the weekend. Monday & Tuesday i was okay, but this morning (technically, as it was 12:34 am) I woke up and couldn't move. Squirrel was in heaven right up until I couldn't feed her.

M2 & J to the rescue!

M2 had told me about their chiropractor and how much they like him, so I called her when it was a decent hour (after sleeping fitfully all night) and they actually arranged for an appointment with their doc before he normally opens. J came out and picked me up and drove me to it since one side effect of not being able to move is not being able to, y'know, drive...

I've always worried about chiropractors, figuring that all the popping and such will likely be rather painful and mightn't work. In this case I was blessedly wrong. The adjustments were more surprising than painful and now, after 5-6 hours I'm feeling better than I have since December.

I'm told I'll be sore again in the morning, but that it won't be as bad. Fortunately I have another appointment with the chiro in the morning and I will be making an appt with my regular doc soon to try and get in with the medically trained equivalent of a chiropractor (macavite and cee_gee have a friend, M, who's training to become one but I still can't remember what they're called). I'm covered for the chiro, but I know i'll never hear the end of it if M gets wind of my chiro habit... :)

I'm thinking that today is a good day to keep. Started out crappy, ending reasonably and remarkably good!
