I can't tell either way, but I know that my discharge has gotten kind of snotty/thick/slippery feeling in the past few weeks. It was mostly very thin before, but now it's kinda mucous-y, but I have no idea if it's mucous plug or not, since it's been going on for a number of weeks now. When do you see your Doc next?

That's the weird thing, up til tonight, my discharge has been really thin and watery too. I called my mom, and she's supposed to call me back to discuss it, AFTER she's done eating dinner. LOL.

I see my midwife on Thursday, so if I haven't found any conclusive evidence either way, I'll ask her. I don't know if she can check if it's still there, or what.

I hear that it can re-grow itself too, so maybe it is the mucous plug, but it just comes back? I was reading the other day that losing just the plug isn't a sign of labour, unless it's tinged with blood? Who knows, hahaha, I'd check with the midwife and she what she thinks.

Yeah, i knew it could regenerate, so I'm not worried. Plus, I'm not having any contractions or any other signs of early labor whatsoever. My mom did say that with me, she lost her mucus plug at 35w3d and I was born exactly 3 weeks later. We'll see. I'm not ready yet! 3 weeks is waaay too soon for me thanks very much. Haha.

My doc said this "if you notice an oder to your discharge it's a reason to call" (never hurts to be extra cautious.) But I can say I'm 33w4d and I have noticed an increase in my discharge the past couple of days. Sorry i can't be much help.

Oh, there's always been an odor to my discharge. My midwife said if it smells fishy or yeasty that that could be a bad sign, but it just smelled normal to me. Or, well, as normal as it ever does. LOL.

I had a strong smell to mine when I first got pregnant (one of the signs I had that I was, in fact, preggers!) and the docs said that my vaginal pH was off, and that if it continued, they'd give me antibiotics. It went away after a couple weeks, and the two times it came back, I became a yogurt-eating fool, and it was all fine.

I'm also supposed to be getting the strep culture in the next week or two. Have you had that done yet? Maybe it might be a good idea to mention it, especially if the odor is at all different from what you're used to.

Nope, haven't had it done yet, but I probably will on Thursday whenI go in. I'll definitely bring that up though, thanks!

I lost my plug with one of my 3 previous ones. There was no doubt that that was what it was but it came out in a big, slippery hunk about the diameter of a soda can and dense. HOWEVER, right before I lost it entirely, I had that snotty stuff that you described. It may very well be the plug. Any streaks of blood? Mine was swirled with some bright red blood but not much. I also didn't notice a smell to mine but everyone has a different sensitivity to that. I'd just call the doc/midwife to make sure it's not some kind of infection starting.

Losing my plug was the same way. It felt extremely strange when it came out, I could feel the entire process. It felt like I had birthed a ball of snot.

Mmm, sexy.

I started getting chunks earlier this week and I eventually realized I was starting a yeast infection...yuck.

I lost a big chunk of mucus like, a month ago and thought the same thing. I'm obviously still pregnant, booo lol. I think I was around 34 weeks too, considering I'm 37 now. Hopefully yours regenerates and your little one can keep baking for awhile!
