36 week appointment

So I had my 36 week appointment today, and a growth ultrasound. They're estimating him to be 6 lbs, 2 oz now, and my OB said that would make him 8 or 8.5 lbs at birth. I'm having a C-section at 39 weeks - aren't babies supposed to gain half a pound a week at this point? So if I have three weeks left, wouldn't that put him at more like 7.5-8 lbs at

i think the further along you are, the harder it is to estimate baby's weight with an ultrasound. with my first, i had an ultrasound 3 days after my due date and they said she was over 8 pounds. i gave birth 3 days later (so she was 6 days late) and she was 7lbs 15oz. i just had my second (4 days early) and she was 7lbs 5oz. at the ultrasound about a week and a half prior, they said she was 7 1/2 pounds. don't freak out too much :)

I don't even know why I'm freaking out, there's no indication that I'm gunna have a huge baby or anything...I'm just weird ;-P

you're allowed to be irrational at this point in pregnancy. :)
