I know it sounds really cliche but you will definitely know. What you are having might be Braxton Hicks which to me always felt like my babies were rubbing their butts across my belly and labor is a whole other ballgame.

YES it feels like he's pushing his booty against my belly lol Do real labor pains make your stomach hard like that too?

My labor contractions made my stomach hard, just like the Braxton Hicks, but there was a LOT more pain involved. I don't know how exactly to describe it, but like has been said, YOU'LL KNOW. Hahaha.

yes your stomach will be hard. You'll also probably have more mucus/blood because even if you don't notice your vagina stretching it does and the hard part of your stomach actually raises to under your ribcage for each cm you are dilated. I have to see if I can find the website I found that info at and will try and link it to you later tonight.

For me, the real labor contractions radiated down my thighs and wrapped around my back. I don't know about you, but when I was younger and just starting my cycle, I wouldn't get cramps in front, I would get them in my lower back. That (and the thighs) is where I felt the labor contraction "pain"

I don't know how typical my pain was, but I know that it was so different than the BH I had before.
