Thanks! I went through your edits with a pen and just cut a lot of stuff. Lots of dead weight in there. And sometimes I get carried away with the cutting. So i"m very happy that you like the changes! And even happier that you think Pam's believable.

AAAAAHHHH OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! The whole thing is so wonderfully visceral, all the sensuality of vampires and hunger and blood and Pam! Oh my, Pam! All of this is so completely canon for me now.

You couldn't possibly have known this but I adore "The Goblin Market." I once wrote an essay, as an undergrad, about the sexual subtext of the poem. Heh, that was a fun paper to write. So this worked perfectly.

And I loved the rhythm of it, with the snippets of Pam's life as a human and vampire intercut with the poem. The whole story moves beautifully.

Holy shit! I can't believe I got the poem right! Um, I'm sorry that I kind of butchered it, cutting out big chunks and the whole ending. But sexual subtext, I has it!

This is magnificent. It so nice to see a backstory for Pam, a development from human into Vampire. She's always so strong and this was a wonderful delve into her past and her character. Lovely work!
