I had a serious crisis of self-doubt and faith in humanity last night. An angry email from a client and a phone call from another old client left me feeling like I'm not a technician but a total hack. I've never felt so down about what I do before in my life. If you did the best you could on those given days then the anger that they chucked at you did not rightfully belong to you. Don't own it. You are not made to never make a mistake (even in the proffesional realm where we pretend that is the case).

Another way to look at this, Sweets, is that the mark of a newbie is someone who's never had to deal with what you had to deal with last night. The measure of your professional success could be more how you deal with these things when they happen (you can't please everyone no matter how wonderful you are) than it is how you keep them from ever happening (which is probably impossible ( ... )
