Not even the two leaders combined can contain the chaos that is all twelve of EXO joining as one. In the dorm, in the cars, on the stage, at events, in the hallways, on television... it's just impossible. They pair off, sometimes they three-off, and there's friendly micromanaging because there's just no way for two guys to control ten others. So someone usually takes on another as a responsibility to put things on a smaller scale - to control the chaos and still have fun. Sometimes a member will continuously return to another, sometimes routine will be mixed up and two people that hadn't really been close before will suddenly gain a new friendship. It's good and it's healthy and it saves the managers headache.
Yixing has a soft spot for the maknae, just because. There's no real specific reason for it and perhaps it's alright like that. He just likes Sehun. He thinks he's inherently sweet without being conscious of it, he thinks he's incredibly determined when he tries.
Everyone is crowding around for a group photo, and Yixing tugs Sehun down next to him. They're not in any order, everyone is next to someone they rarely stand next to, and Yixing likes it like this. He likes the controlled chaos of the twelve of them together, he likes glancing to either side and seeing a different person there every time. His arm winds around Sehun's waist and the maknae squats next to him, arm going over the older's shoulders. Wufan is behind them, a fatherly hand on Sehun's shoulder as he calls out guidance to the rest of the group, trying to get them all squished closer together for the picture.
Sehun isn't really paying attention to what's happening. It's one out of a hundred press photos they'll take that day and Sehun just seems like his usual sleepy self. A glance to his side shows Yixing that Sehun isn't even looking in the general direction of the camera; Yixing's palm presses into Sehun's side and he starts wiggling his fingers, tickling the younger boy.
“Smile, Sehun ah,” Yixing says with his own smile, his cheek indenting.
Sehun barely even squirms - he must not be ticklish - as he shifts his balance on his feet and turns his head towards the cameras. Yixing's smile shines more genuine with Sehun's profile outlined in the flashes of the paparazzi, and he feels Sehun's arm tighten around his shoulders a bit. Yixing's fingers are still pressing and tickling and searching on Sehun's side and Sehun fits nicely against him, Yixing enjoying the way Sehun's ribs and hip curve underneath the loose material of his shirt.
Even though his fingers aren't doing anything specific, Sehun doesn't shrug them off or tell Yixing to stop touching him. He doesn't push away but he doesn't encourage Yixing either, he just lets the older do as he pleases. Maybe that's another reason Yixing likes him. Sehun just sort of goes with the flow.
The cameras won't stop flashing even after the event is over. Sehun leans into Yixing's side tiredly for a second and Yixing tries his best to suck up the maknae's lethargy and take it into his own body - but the contact is brief and of course Yixing can't absorb the other's tiredness. They stand up and Yixing's hand lingers on Sehun's side, Wufan's hand giving Sehun's shoulder a pat before he walks off towards Jongin.
They're all moving and Yixing catches Sehun's eye, offering a smaller, more private smile. Sehun returns it and Yixing briefly wishes the cameras would stop flashing so that he's the only one who catches a polaroid of the curve on Sehun's lips. That's not how it is in public, though, so Yixing moves on.
There's no specific reason for why he likes Sehun.
He just does.
