“Zelo,” Youngjae was in the bathroom, fiddling with his hair and leaning precariously over the sink to get as close to the mirror as possible.
Obediently, Zelo came to his hyung's command, standing in the doorway, tilting his bubblegum pink head curiously. “Yes?”
“Search 'gatsby',” the blond said, using his fingers to piece some sections of his hair. “I need a hair product that gives me style without stiffness. Or...” he made a face and wiped his hands on a towel. “Or one that doesn't leave residue.”
Zelo stiffened, his eyes glimmering as his processor searched for the hair product, “Three thousand results. Would you like me to give you a website to shop off of?”
“Yeah, just save it to the motherboard in the bookmarks,” Youngjae said, still distracted and frowning as he stabbed his finger on one of his spikes. “Thanks.”
Mission accomplished, Zelo left the bathroom and went back out to the living room, where Himchan was waiting for him on the couch.
“What did Youngjae want?” Himchan asked, scooting over so Zelo could sit next to him, resuming their cartoon watching.
“New hair products,” Zelo said with a shrug.
Himchan bit the inside of his cheek, eyeing Zelo for a moment before letting out a breath and returning to the television. From the bathroom Youngjae sighed pathetically, before slamming the door shut and announcing a shower.

“Zelo,” Daehyun was in the kitchen, standing over the stove and waving some steam from the boiling water in the pot away.
Zelo appeared on command, sidling up next to the shorter boy. “Yes?”
“What's a good way to cook noodles before you add spices or sauce?” Daehyun picked up a package of pasta noodles, looking up at Zelo questionably.
Pausing for a moment, Zelo searched his database before grabbing the salt, shaking some into the boiling water. “Instead of using vegetable oil, salt is a good substitute to add to the water so the noodles won't stick together. Olive oil is also recommended, but we don't have any.”
“Good tip,” Daehyun smiled thankfully, definitely more gratified than Youngjae had been the other day. “Are you hungry?”
Zelo smiled, nodding.
“Alright, well help me make the pasta sauce and we'll dig in,” Daehyun said, ruffling Zelo's pink hair.
Himchan walked by the doorway, taking in the situation quietly before continuing on his way, a small smile on his features. The smile grew when Daehyun shrieked and yelled something about picking up the pot before it boiled over and spilled everywhere.

Jongup's body was glistening with sweat, his hair flicking perspiration everywhere as he balanced on the balls of his feet and spun repeatedly, before stopping suddenly and breathing hard. He was clearly overheated, his tank top completely drenched, his pants hanging low on his hips.
“You should change this part,” Zelo said, stepping up next to Jongup and facing the mirrored wall. He backtracked a few steps and made a pause that would match the music, exaggeratedly taking a breath before doing the spin and landing. “You'll be able to catch your breath and reduce the stress on your body.”
Jongup watched, and then mimicked, and then gave a small smile. “You're a genius.”
Zelo smiled and they went through the routine together, from beginning to end, the music pumping loudly through the practice room. Eventually they missed a few steps after continuous repetition, and they collapsed on the floor against each other, laughing and struggling to keep themselves upright.
Himchan brought them some water, smiling fondly at the two maknaes as they continued to at least do the arm movements of their routine from their slumped position.

“I'm a little concerned,” Himchan spoke up, as he and Yongguk drank coffee at the kitchen table, awake before the other members.
“About what?” Yongguk said, checking their schedule on his iPad, his brows furrowing at something or another.
“Zelo.”
Yongguk glanced up at that, his attention completely diverted from his technology. “What? What's there to be concerned about?” He pulled up something on his screen, eyes scanning. “He had an OS update just last week. Is he malfunctioning?”
“Is acting like a human a 'malfunction'?” Himchan asked, voice laced with a bit of irritation mixed with exasperation.
“He's supposed to act like that,” Yongguk said, setting his iPad down and putting both hands around his mug of coffee. “It's in his-”
“Processor, memory board, whatever.” Himchan ran a hand through his cropped hair, making it stick up in a few places. “But shouldn't we treat him like a person?”
Yongguk smiled, amusement on his features, “He was created to serve us.” He leaned forward a bit, “Himchannie, are you having inappropriate feelings for our robot maknae?”
Himchan tried to fight down a blush as he scoffed and sipped his coffee. “I'm just concerned is all.”
“You said that,” Yongguk said with a hum, returning to his iPad. “We all treat him differently, Himchannie. But sometimes we even forget he's a robot until he does something... you know, robotic. I don't think there's anything to worry about. He's adjusting well.”
The raven-haired boy couldn't grasp it. They treated him like a robot, but also as a human, and yeah he acted really humanoid sometimes, even going so far as expressing emotion, but were they appreciative of what he did for them? Whether he was created to serve them or not, Himchan could see the difference between a member using Zelo for his knowledge, or actually asking him for help. Quite honestly, he'd much rather have everyone ask him for help. Not use him as a personal Google search.
Standing up, Himchan left his coffee on the table and made to exit the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” Yongguk asked, though he knew the answer, and Himchan didn't bother replying as he made his way to the secret lab, heading straight for Zelo's charging pod.
He keyed in the code and watched as the door opened, revealing what appeared to be a snoozing Zelo. He hated to wake him up if he was relaxed, but this was important.
“Zelo,” he said, in his rough voice.
Immediately Zelo's eyes opened, unfocused and buzzing with information as he replied, “Battery fully charged.”
Himchan smiled and grabbed Zelo's hand, pulling him out of the pod. Zelo blinked, blinked blinked and then smiled once his processor was finished uploading, and looked at Himchan expectantly.
The alien bit his lip, and then used his hold on Zelo's hand to tug him forward, pressing their lips together. It was chaste and almost like a kiss a mother would give to her son - almost, if Himchan hadn't nibbled on his lower lip lightly; Zelo pulled away as if shocked, reaching up and touching his bottom lip gently.
“Does not comp-”
“It was a kiss,” Himchan interrupted, his hand moving from Zelo's hand to skirt over his waist nervously. “A thank you.”
Zelo's face scrunched up in a way only his face could, “You... kiss someone when you say thank you?”
Himchan covered up his mistake with a nod, “Yeah, to show gratitude.”
Clearly Zelo was absorbing the information, and Himchan smiled, ruffling his strawberry head before turning around. “Come on, breakfast won't make itself.”
-
Back in the kitchen everyone else had woken up and were sitting around the table in various states of alive, Yongguk still sipping his coffee, Himchan's still where he left it.
“I think we should name Zelo,” Himchan announced, making everyone blink blurrily at him as he got food out of the fridge.
“Hyung, he has a name,” Youngjae pointed out behind a yawn.
“No, he as an anagram that sounds like a name when you say it out loud,” Himchan corrected, before thinking and speaking slowly. “Zeta-electronic-la...la...lasomethingsomething-o.”
Yongguk snorted at Himchan's attempt to name Zelo's model.
“Anyway, it's not a name,” Himchan said, starting to make eggs as Zelo sat down at the table. “So we should name him.”
“I have an idea,” Youngjae said, resting his cheek on his folded arms. “Let's name him 'Zelo'. The end.”
“I understand you're not a morning person but you don't need to be a bitch,” Himchan said, reaching out and flicking the back of Youngjae's head none-too-nicely.
Youngjae just mumbled. Daehyun and Jongup smiled, though, apparently on board with the idea.
“Something cute,” Daehyun said.
“Something strong,” Jongup said.
Zelo was looking between them all with mild curiosity, obviously not really understanding the situation. He was probably recalling that humans named their pets, which every alien present thought that was a weird habit.
“Maybe we should combine all of our names together?” Youngjae mumbled, voice muffled by the sleeve of his shirt.
Himchan snapped his fingers, “Great!”, and started to serve the half-alive aliens their breakfast.
“I was kidding,” Youngjae groused.
“How can we combine our names without it becoming mumbo-jumbo?” Daehyun asked.
Yongguk pulled up a little notepad on his iPad. “Let's use letters," he suggested, starting to put different hanja together.
“Junhong.”
Everyone stopped what they were doing, and turned to look at Zelo, who's eyes were a bit unfocused, data screening across the brown orbs. He blinked and it was gone, and he smiled lightly.
“Junhong ranks low on the national Korean baby name list,” Zelo said with a small smile. “It's unique. And it has letters from everyone's name.”
All of the aliens paused to think about the name, before Yongguk smiled and ruffled Zelo's hair. “It's perfect. Junhongie.”
Zelo smiled the biggest smile any of them had ever seen, and when he stood up, they assumed he was going to do maintenance; Yongguk got a surprise however, when Zelo leaned down and kissed him chastely on the lips. He moved around to Daehyun, who looked torn between mortified and curious, and kissed him as well - next was Jongup, who actually seemed to not mind and kissed him back. Youngjae had pillowed his head again and Zelo tapped his shoulder, making him look up - and made him shriek and nearly fall off his chair when he kissed him. And then Zelo turned to Himchan, leaning in to kiss the smiling man softly as well.
“Thank you,” Zelo said, before sitting back down and pulling his plate of eggs towards him. He went on, business as usual, while the rest of the table stared at him.
“Does this mean he can sleep in my bed tonight?” Youngjae asked.
“NO.” Everyone replied.
