We might have found a place

Looked at an apartment in Highland Park yesterday. With heat, it's $150/month outside of my budget, BUT it offers a short-term lease, so if we don't have employment lined up for next fall by then, we can move out June 30 and live at the river for July/August (and therefore not have to pay rent), which more than counteracts the overage ( Read more... )

Sounds like a wonderful place you've found! Yay. I know how much of a pain apartment hunting tends to be. Sorry I won't be in town to help ya move this time either but I'll cross my fingers for you! Hope everything else is going alright with you all. Miss ya! All my blessings.

Either Oct 24 or Nov 1, depending when we're able to get more people to help.

Maybe that's supposed to be the 25th - Either the weekend before Halloween or the weekend after.

When I mentioned that I'd like to be in the new place by Halloween, so the boys could meet other kids in the neighborhood while trick-or-treating, the rep for the landlord at the place we looked at said she could arrange for us to be able to move in a week before the end of the month (and let us have the place for that week for FREE, which was cool of her). I told her that'd depend on whether we could get our stuff moved that soon.

Cute, cute house!

Dang, I wished I lived closer to you - I have a garage full of furniture that I've been doling out to various people over the years as they need it.
