If the cooler was in a place you couldn't access it (like in the trunk), it's okay. That law is only about alcohol in a place where it can be consumed while driving.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it: I was taking a nap. I tend to do that on Sunday afternoons, since I work 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and then 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday--I get tired.

I thought of you, though.
