Things get tough from time to time. But tough can mean a lot of things. Astrophysics classes are tough. Jerky is tough. Breaking up is tough. And as I've come to learn, writing a novel is tough. Lately I've been reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, hoping for inspiration to get me going on writing more, but just the opposite has happened ( Read more... )

I've always hated the expression "finding yourself". I don't really know why.

So have I. When people use it, it just sounds like a feeble attempt to find purpose in life. When I use it, I'm talking about getting to know myself better.

I hope I didn't contribute to your fears by saying those comments a couple months ago. But I'm glad I encouraged you to read more (DO LOTR!!), so that at least you are aware of things you can improve so that you don't write the whole thing and then possibly get rejected (as SOOOO many do their first times!). Just be thankful you haven't written a whole book yet! You know what you're up against and how you can be more creative. :)
