This month’s theme is Play. We asked how they spend their summer breaks.
Outdoor kind of guy Sanada and indoor kind of guy Nozawa.
Seems like their the totally opposites when it comes to games!?
Sanada Yuma
●I’ve been going to beaches to surf in my private time lately. The reason I started is from recording of Hyakushiki (Fujiterebi). I got on the board easily when they taught me how. My dad is a ex-surfer so I might have gotten some of his DNA (laughs). Then, I got addicted to it and now I’ve been going to the ocean a lot. I went surfing in May with short-sleeved wetsuit on but I got the farmers tan from the short-sleeve. That’s why I want to go to the ocean one more time during summer to get rid of the tan line.
●A game I think I can win again Nozawa? To be honest, I have a feeling I won’t lose to any game against Noazawa (laughs). I’m a true-downtown Tokyo raised kid and Nozawa is more gentlemanlike so I want to say “What do you know about games!” to him(laughs). Also, Nozawa is more indoor type of person. That’s why I won’t lose in a game of soccer or baseball! That reminds me, Nozawa used to play volleyball right? I have some experience in them so I want to have a game of volleyball with him.
●I had free time lately so instead I want to work more this summer. There’s SUMMARY 2008 this year, too. Since it’s an opportunity to come in contact with the fans, I want to cherish the moment.

●I don’t go outside that much during summer. It’s not like I don’t like summer, I just don’t like how my skin feels like it‘s burning from the heat. So, if I’m going out to play, I want to go bowling, karaoke or somewhere under a roof. That reminds me, I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a beach before. If I have the chance, I want to go in the ocean (laughs). But, I went to a pool at an amusement park last year. I was swimming all day and I ended up getting all tanned. I sort of like the feeling so I think going to the pool with my friends this year sounds good, too. I was always playing around outside when I was in elementary school. I used played games like basketballs and dodge balls.
●Sanada said I’ll never win against him in games? Then, shall we do a sports competition? Volleyball competition. Okay, bring it on (laughs). Also, I don’t think I’ll lose against Sanada in table tennis. I have a feeling I can win in bowling, too. When I have the good runs I can score up to 150. But, let’s just make the volleyball game come true first!
●Lately, I’ve been watching movies and I was able to get ready for SUMMARY because I had so much time in my hands! (interview was taken in July) For now, I’m prepared to run all over the place (laughs). I missed having fun with the audiences so I can hardly wait.
