Camping Plot - The Beginning

"Well, this oughta be fun," the new kid on the block commented to himself, looking around. He flexed his wrists in anticipation, getting the final feel for his new suit. "Nothing like a little revenge to really make you feel aliveOf course, the first problem would be getting everyone there, and... he could do that. Turning to face a nearby bank, he ( Read more... )

It had been a relatively quiet day in the Tower so far.

But then the city watch system lit up like the fourth of July. Terra jerked from her position on the couch and rushed over to see what the problem was, simultaneously pulling her communicator from her side.

"Titans! We've got something really serious going on downtown! Every single alarm in the First National Bank is going off! Get to the control room right now and we'll head out!"

*Beast Boy skidded into the room shortly after Terra raised the alarm and headed over to Terra's side.*

Ready to go, dude!

What was Lightning doing when this was happening? Paying the pizza man at his door. Lightning ordered out for a pizza that day for him and Thunder -- it was Lightning's turn to cook, and Lightning accidentally set the pots on fire.

Putting the pizza box down on the kitchen table, he sniffed the delicious aroma. Ah, pizza! How he didn't come to discover such a bright idea until a long time ago, he would never know, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that he's making up for lost times.

He opened up the box and got himself a slice -- but no sooner did he grabbed it and inched it towards his mouth, his communicator blinked. Opening up the community, he heard Terra's voice and also saw the destination of the First National Bank being under attack.

Grumbling, he put down the piece of pizza. "This better not be a waste of my time," heading out the door and up into the sky to get to where he was supposed to get to.

Ophelia, however, actually was not that far from from the robbery when her communicator went off. She had just paid for some grocceries; mostly for baking some sweets. She grabbed the communicator, fiddling with it for a moment before finding the button that would allow her to respond. "I'll be there soon, Terra!"

She put the communicator away, and after whining and stomping her foot, having a minor temper tantrum, she left behind her grocceries and went outside. Getting her bearings and doing her best to remember the streets and intersections, she was quickly running off to the bank. Honestly, she thought, this would be so much easier if I could fly. Thank goodness it isn't that far!

((In a new thread to avoid squishage.))

Michael had taken enough of Ghost's flak today, and enough of everyone in the HIVE's for a lifetime. His fists shaking, he glared straight ahead at nobody in particular before pointing his hands out at the clump of superpowered people who thought they were better than him. "I may have been held back, but it paid off for me in the end, Ghost! I'm Disruptor for a reason, and don't forget it! Let's see how well all of you can keep up with me when you're powerless to stop things from happening as they should -- literally!" Well, someone got an A in Overdramatic Monologuing 101.

And in mindless zapping. More ripples almost invisibly passed through the air, coming into contact with the HIVE and Titans in its path and leaving... well, nothing behind. Those affected by it likely wouldn't notice a difference. Until they tried to use their powers, at least. But he would wait for his time to come before he said anything. Until then, he stood there smugly and watched.

Terra certainly didn't feel any different. Except maybe really amused when she realized he didn't actually do anything. Well, snark was her forte, after all. "What's that reason, again? You disrupt the class by being older than everyone?" Pssh. This guy wasn't even worth her time. He was worse than the Lowest Common Denominator. "C'mon, you guys can go home," she said to the other Titans (and See-More). "I've got this clown." Her wrist flicked and... it did nothing except make her look flamboyant. Wait, what.

*Well, this was one person who was actually visibly affected by the waves, although thanks to his costume he couldn't see the changes for himself. All he knew was that something felt a bit off. He blinked at Terra.*

Um, was that... supposed to do something, Terra? ... *He got a hunch and tried shifting. And it didn't work.* Dude! *:O*

At first, Lightning didn't feel different -- but he did notice his hair immediately fell from its style and got in his vision. "Quite some damage you did," he said sarcastically, and reached up to attempt to put his hair back up.

... And noticed it was black instead of blonde. And his skin wasn't yellow anymore. "... What the hell did you do?!" he yelled at Disruptor, and he put his hand out to zap him... and nothing happened.

Cue the "... D8<" look on his face.

Starfire was late in responding, since she was in a deep sleep.

But she immediately rushed over to the monitor to see what was going on. Getting her communicator out, she announced over it, "Terra, I am sorry for the delay! I shall be there short--"

She paused when she only got static over her communicator. She tried to contact anyone else -- Lightning, Ophelia, Fangs, Beast Boy -- and kept getting the same response. Frowning, she got on her communicator again. This time, she was contacting anyone that was available.

"Friends, please come and assist me down town! Something bad has happened, and many of our teammates are nowhere to be found!"

After this, she started to leave the Tower and fly over to the site. She bit her lower lip. If Terra, their leader was gone, did that mean the others have gone with her? What happened to them?

Thunder had been up early, running a few errands, and was actually on his way back to the Tower when he got her message.

Many of them...? Including Lightning? That was something to be concerned with. He turned around to go downtown where Starfire asked them to meet. "I'll meet you there, Starfire," he replied.

Raven was interrupted from her usual meditation time, but hearing Starfire's voice over the communicator that resided on her bed made her annoyance fade quickly. She crossed the room fast, in a flurry of cloak, and picked up the device in a swift motion.

"Starfire. I am on my way."
