It was incredibly gay. It was so very, very gay. They were dancing together amidst some of the highest dignitaries in Europe - the only way they could have made it more homoerotic would have been by making Watson give Holmes mouth-to-mouth during the train 'I thought you were dead!' scene.
Also, Mary was easily my favourite in this one - I love the actress by herself, but her character was developped and beautiful and, just, everything that Adler wasn't, fuck them very much for fridging her. I loved that Mary was the one decoding Moriarty's notebook and snarking at Lestrade about it, god, she was brilliant.
