In other news, 8 months isn't enough time to have learned how to work properly in an office environment.
No kidding. I read and re-read my PDF copy of the 48 laws of power before starting ANY new office environment and remind myself not to do/say anything dumb, but sometimes it just comes out anyway. D:
It's just process and familiarity with... *things* you know? Do I send the email now or later? Do I need more information? Who do I talk to first? I feel like such a NOOB.
The first one "Don't outshine the master" is probably the most important one, culturally, for England. Lots of people are ~*jealous*~ here. Of course, this is office politics wise. If you don't have office politics, nothing important there, heh.
Oooh interesting. I could do better on rule one. I've screwed up a few times, but (most of) my seniors are pretty chilled out. I try to appear "supportive" instead of "too clever". I should also take a hard look at number 3 (conceal your intentions). This is so much more important than I thought it would be.
