[2nd Portal] A Companion for Christmas

[On Christmas morning, Chell wakes up on the couch that she had claimed as her own and sits up to discover that there are a couple of gifts under and nearby the tree and two stockings hung over the fireplace.

She didn't hear anybody come in, she's a light sleeper, especially with

[Walking into your house. What is knocking? How did she locate your house? Bah, unimportant. Ignore the bag in her hand.]

Oh, and here I thought you'd get coal. Not surprising the town chooses to reward murderers though I suppose.

[Chell is slightly startled by the familiar voice, turning around to face GLaDOS. She glances back at the candy when she mentions the coal, if the candy is poisoned, that's even worse than coal. At least coal is useful.

She looks around the room and then puts her attention back on the other woman. Had GLaDOS somehow put cameras in here somewhere? Or maybe she had followed her home?]

[Rolls her eyes as she takes off her hat and jacket.]

It's not poisoned. Or at least the one's from my house wasn't. Try feeding it to a drone if you're so worried.

[Throws a wrapped Christmas present into Chell's lap. It's flat and rectangular. If Chell opens it she'll find a crisp orange notebook and a new pen. Also a candy-cane but that's totally in there by accident.]

As far as my files indicate, you should be able to write. Feel free to prove me wrong and label this another waste of time though.

[Chell isn't going to feed anything to the drones, that's more of GLaDOS' style.

She's quite surprised by the present and looks down at it and back to GLaDOS several times before cautiously opening it. Chell runs her hands over the cover of the notebook and picks it up, lightly flipping through the pages. She then picks up the pen and looks it over. Finally, she holds the candy-cane closer to her nose, she can smell the peppermint through the wrapper.

Once she's done investigating her presents, she gives GLaDOS a polite nod. She doesn't have a present for you, or anyone else, really, so she just sits there with her gifts.]
