Eve Ensler's V-Day and the Angel of Bukavu

I don't observe Valentine's Day - it has no cultural or religious significance for me. ( But I have nothing against other people celebrating it... )

Ohhh. My college had V-Day...and I had to read the Vagina Monologues for Critical Inquiry last semester.

I certainly have tremendous respect for Eve Ensler, even though I don't fully connect with it. (Which by saying so I got half-yelled at, lol).

Hm. I don't bother with Valentine's Day. I'm single, what need do I have? And although someone told me yesterday it's not a "couples" day, I don't know any friends who celebrate it? :|?

Buuuuuut.
Whatever. :)

Sounds like your college gets to do lots of interesting stuff. Yes, I have great respect for Eve Ensler's work too. You got sort of yelled at? That's too bad? It'll be cool if people could agree to disagree nicely. IMHO, no one can fully connect with anyone else's experience. We're all individuals after all :-)

Well, it's more that I got scolded for saying that I didn't feel personally connected towards it. I've been fortunate enough to have never experienced any kind of violence in that way, and to be honest, never really thought too much about what it meant to be a woman. (Which is both a good and a bad thing, in my opinion.)

Can't please everyone ;)
