I read "Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit" , the Nahoko Uehashi novel on which the Seirei no Moribito anime is based, quite a while back, but didn't have time to blog about it until now.

Anyway, it's interesting to see how different Yuko Shimizu's book illustrations were from the anime's character designs.The anime designers seemed to have added

ooh thank you so much for the synopsis ... I have been intrigued by it but I have just no time to either watch the anime or read. So it is a translated novel and not a manga?

I may have seen a book by that title but I'm not sure if it is the same one.

But I shall look out for it the next time I'm in the library.

Yup, the Moribito anime is based on the first of a series of 10 novels. So far, if I'm not mistaken, only the first 2 novels have been translated into English.
