How far along are you?

40 weeks baby!!

What symptoms are you experiencing?
Too much pelvic pressure, difficulty getting comfortable while laying down (though no trouble sleeping whatsoever!), itchies still, loosened stool, varying degrees of contractions, very irregular.

How are you feeling?
On the whole, pretty good. I mean very good for 40 weeks pregnant, but I would prefer to be skinny and able to jump and run and sleep however I like. I'm quite tired and my body is sore. I can't walk too far or long because I get massive cramping in the right side of my abdomen, under the ol' belly.
Any doctor appointments / ultrasounds / tests this past week and how did they go?
Well on Monday I had my 39.5 week checkup [I always had appts on THURSDAYS which was dead on the start of a new "week" of pregnancy, but one week (38?) I went in and she was delivering a bebe, so it had to be bumped to the following Monday, hence the 39.5 and 40.5 week check ups that have/will occur.] and my first cervical check. Baby and I were healthy, but there was absolutely no progression of my cervix at all. It was "high and firm and no room enough for a membrane sweep". My doctor said that she would be VERY surprised if we had a baby before Monday, so to come in on Monday of next (the 21st) and we would get checked again. If no progress has been made (not sure how much progress would count at this point in time) than we would talk about scheduling an induction for later in the week (cervical gel).
I'm really hoping things start happening because I would love to go into labor on my own (B thinks and has thought for a long time that I will go into labor on the night of the 20th and have baby on the morning of the 21st)

Anything big happening in your personal life?
Yeah, I reached the top of the pregnancy mountain! Now baby just needs to start his descent.  Honestly though uh.. I finished my "nesting" attacks, the house is perfect (minus the washing machine spilling about 20litres of water under our floor causing warping.. totally my fault) and tomorrow is going to be 28 degrees Celsius so I may head to the beach! (Lake beach.. ocean is still too cold, it's the Atlantic!)

Any questions you want to ask?
Does baby still move around during a contraction? I had a big, long contraction last night and it was so uncomfortable and I'm not sure if it was the contraction causing my cervical pain or the baby bee-bopping around. B had his hand on my belly and felt baby going apeshit under my navel, he was tossing and turning his shoulders I imagine. I had some sharp pains in there.
Also, if I haven't lost a mucus plug or seen any bloody anythings, should I expect anything to happen on it's own by Monday?

Any food cravings?
I ran out of watermelon about a week ago. I am seriously craving watermelon and pineapple. Pineapple. Pineapple. Also my popsicles are all gone, minus 1, and this makes me terribly sad!

Anything else to add?
I am very worried that I won't know when I'm having proper contractions. I'm just going to assume if there's uncomfortable painful things going on in my abdominal area, that's the deal. I also have the feeling my water will not break on it's own. Ah well.. it is what it is, right?
I'm concerned about induction because it is said that labor is much more intense when you've been induced, I'm not sure the varying degrees of this but Pitocin is more powerful than Cervadil, so I would assume would make the labor more powerful? Also, we all know induction is the beginning of a 24 hour process that could very well lead to an emergency C-section if things don't progress fast enough for the doctor's and nurses. While I do NOT want a C-section.. that would also mean I wouldn't have to push a baby out of my beautiful vagina.. I am on the fence. I figure what will happen, will happen.. I just know that B can't afford to take much time off work and the recovery time for a c-section is much more than that of a vaginal birth, so what will I do for support if he can't be here for us? My mom lives 5 minutes away.. maybe I'll get lucky.

Happy Due Date Baby!!
