This is the kind of stuff that bothers me most about poverty :( It's not just a matter of people who have two TVs vs. people who have one: when people have less than "better" people, they're relatively under-educated, have less opportunities, less awareness of other solutions to their problems, more focused on their own neighbourhood rather than a bigger "playground" of national an international travel that others have, etc.
They really have entirely new ways of suffering, from just kids wishing they could afford the shoes that the richer kids have, to people in ghettos shooting each other because, throughout their whole lives, they've been caught up in so much crap that they can't even tell what to really blame for it anymore.
And then there are the people outside, who basically tune the whole thing out, and walk right by as they suffer. It's really horrible :(
