Gatorade Duels and LJ

Let's see where to start?

Well 3 days ago I noticed that I wasn't getting any alerts from LJ in my inbox and I'm not the only one, which makes me feel better.  I've been having issues with my mail program and haven't been able to fix that and now this.  So knowing that this issue is with more than just me, makes me feel good because I can't deal with another issue that I may or may not be able to fix.

Well yesterday they had the 2 Gatorade Duel races for the Daytona 500 that's on Sunday.  I couldn't wait to see it, but of course I was nervous, this is Daytona and I want Jr to win so damn badly.  For the first part of the race he was up front and lead laps, YAY, the middle part he rode around the back of the pack, which is fine, it was his choice, he likes to have fun.  :)  The last part he was up front and there were only a few laps to go when a caution came out.

They went green with 4 to go and he was running 2nd behind Tony Stewart and it was looking to be one hell of a finish.  Unfortunately midway thru the last lap there was a wreck and NASCAR called a caution.

Now I want to say, I understand their thinking and all, but I'm mad about it.  And I'm glad that Danica is ok.

Let's think of it this way, had this wreck happened on Sunday, when they're coming down to a guy finally getting his first 500 win and the defending champion and a guy that's going for his second, the sport's most popular driver, and his first win in 130 races, are they going to call a caution?

So I'm upset that the wreck was behind the leaders and it was the last lap and they were clear of any issues that the wreck could have caused.  Granted I wasn't able to see all of the discussions that followed the first race and haven't had a chance to see any interviews since, but as of right now I don't get their thinking.  So I'm just going to rant then catch up and see if any reason was given.

Ok, I'll stop now.  :)

I can't wait for this weekend Jr starts 4th in the Nationwide race and 5th in the 500 Sunday.  But I'm dreading the butterflies that accompany the races.
