Beautiful icons... and nice tutorial... Memorexed...

Question on the gradient and color fills... how did you decide which to do?

Hmm.. tough question. The first one I got from some tutorial and fell in love with it, so I started using it in a bunch of icons. The other two were just trial and error, trying a few things until I was happy with what I got.

Hope that helps... :)

so basically, in the first four steps, you desaturated the base completely and then added the peachish layer and the purple layer?

and then, why did you duplicate the original base?

the final result is really pretty, i want to figure this out... it's the first tutorial i've actually wanted to try so i'm just trying to understand. :)

No, I copied the original base, and desaturated the copy... so that the bottom layer still has color in it, and the 3rd and 5th are desaturated.

I duplicated the original base because I wanted the icon to be lighter, but not to lose too much color. If I had duplicated the desaturated layer and set that to screen, I would've gotten much duller colors.

No problem at all, I'm happy to help. :)
