Hey BJD fans, I'm debating getting a smaller scale BJD to trek across Japan with me next year and I admit, I'm contemplating making a KK and having Karkat's Adventures in Japanland ha ha ha. I've been out of the BJD hobby for over a year (as I've had no money so I don't even look for fear of tempting) so do any of you guys have recs for a base for

As far as gray skin goes, I can't really think of a yoSD that's basic that isn't crap. Soom Grit is the first one that comes to mind that's gray AND pointed ears, but you'd have to try and get one off the secondhand marketplace. Soom Bygg would work too, but unfortunate there's a huge horn hole in its head, unless you were okay with human ears and bigger eyes. That would be secondhand market, too, probably for like 400-450$.

A brand new company, Withdoll, has a skim MSD guy, and he's got pointed ears, too. Withdoll Fenrir.

Gray isn't too popular so unfortunately there aren't a lot of small dolls with it D:

Fenrir is actually perfect, it's even got knitted brows in the sculpt ffff, but he's way too big, I'm looking smaller so he can be more portable. The Grit is -really- good too tho, he's even got little fangs and nubby horns XD

I think it might come down to how much money I make AAing this summer x-X

I don't think I have anything valuable to add except if you're looking for an inexpensive grey doll, there's always Resinsoul. Admittedly their posing is shite and they're more of a "cute" look than a "SRS BZNS" look. But they do have grey resin and they're pretty nexpensive.
