Character: Nanako Dojima
Series:
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4Character Age: 7
Canon: Persona 4 tells the story of Souji Seta during his stay in rural Inaba. He makes friends, goes to school, and picks up part-time jobs like any other kid his age. What sets him apart is that Souji also rescues would-be murder victims from a monster-infested world inside the TV by summoning Persona, manifestations of the true self. Many of the people he rescues become his fast friends, alongside a variety of other Inaba residents; these relationships he forms give him more power in the form of social links, allowing him to create stronger Personae.
Nanako, Souji's younger cousin, happens to be one of the social links forged during the course of the game. She possesses all of the innocence and adorability of that little kid sister you always wanted, and yet, Nanako is also fairly mature for her age, even making Souji's friends feel younger than her at times. She's not one to throw tantrums and understands that everything she wants will not always be what she gets. It’s not that she doesn’t hope for the best, but at the very least, her mother's death and her father’s dedication to work have taught her to make do with what she has. For instance, while she won’t complain about watching TV by herself, Nanako would much rather spend time with those close to her, may they be her family or friends. She is especially pleased when these gatherings involve Junes, a local department store, as she is a huge fan, but it's certainly not necessary to bring a smile to her face.

It's not very nice that this camp has a bad word in its name. Why would anyone do that? Maybe the director lady is a little weird. I can't think of any other reason why she would put a bad word in the name. Am I even at the right camp? I thought I was going to go to a local one like everyone else at school.
Maybe Dad made some last minute changes because he thought this place would be better. Hm… He didn't mention anything. Still, it's nice to be able to come to any summer camp, no matter where it is. Oh, and they have zombies here, just like in the movies! But I don't think it’s really normal to have them at summer camp. Um... Are we supposed to play with them? Is that why they're here?
I'm just curious because there's this one zombie who's trying to play tag with me. He's very persistent! Even though he's lost an arm and a few toes, he's still following me. Mr. Zombie even went through the radioactive lake to chase me when I ran away. I heard that there are crocodiles in there, but he didn't have any biting him when he came out. I wonder if they avoided him because he tastes bad. He doesn’t look very yummy or fresh enough to eat, kind of like what they cook in the mess hall. I tried to eat there earlier today, but the food looked scary and smelled terrible.
It's so bad that I can even smell it from this tree I'm in! I was going to hide here and take a short break from playing, but now I can't get down without Mr. Zombie tagging me. I wish he'd stop trying to climb up the tree for a few minutes. That way, I can get down and start running again. After all, you can't play tag in a tree, and I kind of want to climb down, too. It's not really comfortable up here, and there are some weird looking toucans staring at me.
I didn't see them in the tree when I climbed up. I don't want to bother the birdies, but I need to stay up here until Mr. Zombie promises not to tag me when I climb down. Then I can leave them alone. I hope the birdies won't mind too much. Sorry, toucans! I'll bring you something to eat next time, okay? It’ll be yummy, I promise, so please be patient!
Um, well, I hope the food will be good. I'm not really sure if I can find anything that tastes okay from the mess hall.
