home from surgery!

Feb 02, 2009 11:28

the longest and most painful part was waiting for the nurses to find a vein. they finally found one on the fourth needle. :=( they said I kept "blowing" veins, meaning that they'd get a needle in and then the vein would close up and stop the needle from going further. who would've thought my veins are strong willed.... or virginal....

I told the surgeon to NOT talk during the surgery because I didn't want to hear what he was doing, once he started cutting. I closed my eyes and thought of England Snape Darcy chocolate. He was done in less than a half-hour. unlike my previous biopsy 20 years ago, this was under a sedative instead of general anesthesia, so I can go back to work tomorrow instead of taking an entire week. amazing!

after the surgery, the nurses fitted me up in this fishnet stocking bra that I have to wear for 48 hours for support for the stitches. NO BATH OR SHOWER FOR 48 HOURS, so the stitches and dressing stay dry.

I still don't know for sure about the lump - he said the lab won't have the results back for a week. I will keep you posted. thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, good wishes, and sacrificial offerings of shoes!
