“Come on its fun!”
Arthur from under the tree raised his eyebrows in a doubtful manner. Gwen playfully smiled, beckoning him with her hand but Arthur shook his head defiantly; crossing his arms tightly over his chest to emphasis his point. Gwen sighed, flicking her eyes to the darkened heavens before shrugging her shoulders.
“Suit yourself.”
Turning her back on him Gwen threw her arms out once more, tilted her face towards the sky and continued her swaying dance, sticking her tongue out in the process to taste the droplets that where falling fast.
Arthur bemused at Gwen’s actions shook his head fondly watching as she twirled around, carefree and elegantly. It was completely childish, dancing in the rain, something his father would thoroughly disapprove of, hardly prince behaviour but he had to admit it did looked every bit of fun Gwen had claimed it to be.
He stood there for a few minutes chuckling at her; then not really knowing why; perhaps he got caught up in her gleeful manner or maybe it was the way her dress was now clinging to her curves he sprung forth out from beneath his safe haven and ran full speed towards Guinevere whilst her back was turned.
Gwen sensing his movement turned around quickly but not fast enough. As the blur that was Arthur slung his arm around her waist and lifted her clear off her feet Gwen let out a squeal, kicking her legs about. Twirling them around till he lost his balance Arthur fell to the floor taking Gwen with him; their bodies making a soft thud upon the soaking, muddy ground and their combined laughter filling the air.
