Trust me, I already have a loose grasp on what can be defined as normal. Maybe abnormal is destined to be my normal.

I'm trying to put a name to the face and I'm honestly failing spectacularly.

Perhaps so. That's what it is with me, too.

[Jack's bottom lip was almost bruised from him biting it. The door knocked and he opened it wordlessly allowing her entrance to his room, but after she entered he would not stand still. ]

[ Jack's daily life on the barge was starting to get far more hectic than he had imagined. He had only been part of the Dharma iniative for a matter of days, which despite being in the past and supposedly laborious was acutally alot more easy going than this place. Perhaps he was only making more work for himself and that would not do. His sole mission here was to help this girl, everything else was secondary. She was what counted.

It was an hour before dinner and Jack found himself resting on the railings of the deck outside the Garden's entrance, idly watching the countless stars pass. The garden was small but relaxing and there were a few small bulbs lighting the area. Anyone else might of thought it to be romantic, but Jack's mind was set to business. ]

[Laura sauntered up to Jack casually, once she spotted him. No hesitation--she needed to make it perfectly clear that he didn't intimidate her. She gave him her best charming smile, and a greeting she'd always used on her psychiatrist, Dr. Jacoby. Coming from her, it sounded almost sensually provocative.]

What's up, doc?

Yeah, I've never heard that one before.

[Of course Jack's file had stated Laura's age didn't expect Laura to be so young and yet have the swagger of an adult. Jack had to remind himself that really she was just a troubled girl]

Ms. Palmer, I assume.
