i'm writing this in the New College library and the woman next to me just asked me to "keep it down"-- i'm apparently one of those loud typers. this marks the beginning of my being back on livejournal, although anyone who reads this probably didn't know i was there in the first place

hey kim, this is liz mathews! I was happy to stumble upon your livejournal, and can sympathize with this post . . . I think I used to ask that "is this real?" question a lot at new college, but then i realized that what was really important are the friends you have and the classes you are passionate about. as far as friendship goes, i can't wait to come back and spend time together--you are one of my favorite new friends. i know the transience at new college is discouraging; there's something about me that was unsettled and really I care about new college too much to only half be there. but i do sincerely miss you and sasha and beth and others . . . I guess i just agree that new college IS a special place, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay. hope you are well. love!
