- My cat ran away. I've had Maisie and Gracie for 11 years, and they would occasionally sneak out when we were taking things outside, and occasionally be allowed to go outside (during the day, particularly when we were outside), and they never went out of the yard, always came back pretty quickly. Maisie must have gotten out when I was taking trash ( Read more... )

Not MGM. Disney Hollywood Studios.

Meal for 2? In a park or at a resort? California Grill at Contemporary, Narcoosee's at Grand Floridian, Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, Flying Fish at Boardwalk... any number of the Epcot restaurants... I tried the new sushi place in Japan last fall and it was good.

Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney Hollywood Studios (no longer MGM). We love that place. :) Dinner for two...depends on how much you want to splurge and what kind of food you want to eat. There's always Victoria & Albert's. :) Honestly, I'd say check out the menus at allears.net to narrow it down, and it also depends on if you're looking for a restaurant in a park or at a resort. California Grill is a popular choice, as is Narcoossee's. I like the restaurants at Epcot - Chefs de France, Bistro de Paris, Le Cellier, Restaurant Marrakesh. Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining in Japan at Epcot both opened fairly recently, so I haven't been to either, but there's sushi. ;) Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge has an interesting menu. I very much enjoyed my meals at both the Concourse Steakhouse and the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Sorry, that's kind of rambly. :) I'll be happy to weigh in if you have questions about a specific place.

I'm sorry about Maisie. :(

For dinner for 2, I'd recommend in this order:

1 - California Grill (best atmosphere, view and food - and they have sushi)
2 - Citricos @ Grand Floridian - very, very close 2nd to CA Grill, but only in terms of atmosphere (no view, but a lovely, lovely restaurant and superb food) - this is practically a tie for me
3 - Jiko @ Animal Kingdom Lodge - wonderful food, lovely place but a definite 3rd

All three are expensive but well worth it. (and you can watch Magic Kingdom fireworks from CA Grill if you are there during the show - from your table if you are near the windows or from the observation deck)

Oh, I'm so sorry about Masie :-(

FWIW, I'd second (third?) the rec for California Grill if you can get in. It's the only dinner for two I've had at a sit down restaurant at WDW so it's not entirely fair to say it was my favourite --- but it was a very, very nice and memorable experience.

We liked the food although found the portions to be rather large, and thought we could have easily just split one full meal (We were on the meal plan -- you might find it makes sense to share an app and have your own entrees, and a shared dessert, for example).

I really liked being there at show time, and being able to wander out to the balcony to see and hear "the Magic". As it happened, we did have a table at the window, but the staff encouraged us to go to the balcony anyway as it had a better view and much better sound reception.
