I don't write fanfic. I am a parent of a pre-adolescent. But I do NOT support witch hunts.

Yeah, it's just ... crazy. I used to be an avid reader of one of the communities which got baaaaahleted. Probably only aobut 1/10th of what was published there fell under the category of "illegal activities" and once again, it's FICTION. Now the maintainer is attempting to recover four years of fanfiction out of some coded stuff LJ sent her.

Somebody made a community: innocence_jihad. It's really weird, this all coming up just after the FanLib wank began (basically, there's a corporation/website attempting to make money off of fanfiction while possibly setting fans up to take the fall legally if anything bad happens). Fandom is a weird and scary place at the moment.

I think the thing that amazes me is the lack of professionalism many connected to lj/SixApart have displayed for a while now. Granted it may be a peeve of mine, we know how impressed (not) I was with the way applications and notifications were handled for that etsy show because I KNOW HOW THINGS ARE and SHOULD BE DONE. Because IT'S MY JOB.

Oh. feeling ranty. sorry.
