You're talented. Pardon my ignorance...is graphite anything similar to charcoal?

It is related more closely to lead than charcoal. The kind I used was a very soft graphite pencil called a "Sketch & Wash". I prefer ebony pencils, but the graphite works well for shading and smudging.

That's cool. I'm curious because Mike works with charcoal a lot, and I really love the shading and definition that comes with it. Although I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to art, really.
