Amazing worldbuilding. You have a singular talent for taking a light-hearted AU prompt and then wringing all the possible tragedy from it. And then more. Now I cannot stop imagining the backstabbing Lion Court, poor Cately who is kept far away from her daughter by his grasping, amibious husband, Benjen forced to give up his dream, and my poor, poor tragic Ned who lost his happiness out of loyalty. Way to go.
Hahahaha, thank you! Ugh, IDEK what's wrong with me, I turn everything into a big ol' ball of ANGSTY ANGSTNESS. (I blame Ned, personally. Guy cannot just have AU-sexytimes without MASSIVE ANGST. XD) The idea of a Lannister court with Jaime and Cersei as king and queen both horrifies and fascinates me. XD
This is so good and so sad! Poor Ned and Catelyn! They were meant to be in every universe everywhere, but here Ned is too stupid to realize it.
I really like this story -- Robert's decision not to be king seems completely plausible, and of course Ned would go with him. Poor Ned! Poor Catelyn! (Poor everyone, really)
I'm listening to to "can't help but falling in love" by ingrid - PURELY BY CHANCE WHILE READING THIS! IM ACTUALLY CRYING - LIKE what the fuck! This is soo beautiful...leave me to drown in my own ...
... I tried to add something then it added it as spam - by bad....
Ugh, Robert is so lucky to have Ned for a friend. Though I could almost see, post-Lyanna's death, Robert just being like "I need to get out of here, I don't want to be a king" because obviously he is not made to be a king, and doesn't enjoy it. And I can imagine Ned needing to get away for awhile, too, though I do think he'd eventually smarten up and come home - too much guilt leaving Winterfell as Benjen's responsibility. I kinda actually love the idea of Robert in the Free Cities - he would love it. (BUT LEAVE NED IN WESTEROS!!!)
YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT NED AND WORDS. MAINLY THAT HE'S NOT VERY GOOD AT THEM, SOMETIMES. <3 So I do think writing would be a bit easier for him (LESS LAME COMEBACKS). Ned was basically just a big ol' ball of angsty bad decisions in this AU, unfortunately.
I AM SO GLAD YOU ENJOY MY RIDICULOUS AUs, IT MAKES ME FEEL SLIGHTLY LESS RIDICULOUS. XDXD ILU!
