It's like every time I see that you've written a Ned/Cat story my brain goes... MUST READ!!!

This was lovely. The take on Winterfell was so grim but understandable after Cat was ripped from the one thing she had always known and wanted. There were too many lines that I positively fell in love with.

“I would like for you to stay. But I cannot watch you waste away from unhappiness.”

Dear lord, is there anything more selfless? Gorgeously done and beautifully written.

Hahaha well thank you!!! I appreciate the comments each time!! <33 The Winterfell-Riverlands comparison was the easiest to make from the original myth - I'm sure Winterfell and the North DID feel grim after living in the South, and that it was a hard adjustment to make. So glad you enjoyed!!

Ahhhh, thank you my love!!! <33 Ugh, I was SUCH a Greek/Roman mythology geek - I was one of those annoying kids who saw Hercules when it came out and felt the need to add commentary on every way it was incorrect and at odds with the actual myths. XD Yup, I was THAT KID

Thank you my dear!!! I thought the contrast of a Ned-Cat and Hades-Persephone marriage was dead-on in the prompt, if I had to do some tweaking to make the myth fit. XD (Though as I said above, I could totally see Robert-as-Zeus being all "PARENT DOES NOT APPROVE? NEVER FEAR. KIDNAPPING IS A COMPLETELY VIABLE OPTION." Though I see Ned being not-so-into that. XD)

Hi! OP here, and YES! Everything I could possibly want, and from one of the best authors on the meme! I love the touches that reflect the myth (pomegranates), and the way the North is very much like the Underworld and....YES! YESYESYESYESYES! Sorry, getting a bit incoherent here. I'm a massive mythology nerd (I, too, irritated my entire family by criticising Hercules at every turn for the inaccuracies), and this was everything I could have hoped for.

XD And ugh, I was so that annoying friend who immediately screeched HERCULES ISN'T HERA'S KID WHAT IS UP WITH THIS TOMFOOLERY?? within the first three minutes of the movie beginning, and continued on to the very end with I'M SO GLAD THEY DON'T CONTINUE ON TO THE POINT WHERE HE BRUTALLY MURDERS HER at the closing credits. XD
