I love getting to read your motheringblogging; you & Eric growing a family makes me foolishly happy. Welcome to the world, Violet!

It is. It needs work... obviously, I thought I'd have another month to get it ready. It's a weird little room that's basically shaped like a... actually, there isn't any shape I can compare it to. It has lots of nooks, under the eaves like it is. Needs artwork on the walls - gotta get on that.

The other day, Eric bought her a couple of "Where the Wild Things Are" plushies at the local bookstore, which I'd like to display on a shelf of some kind. That was extra adorable since Eric doesn't buy ANYTHING. He can go MONTHS and MONTHS without pulling out his wallet for anything other than groceries. I've never seen him buy so much as a pen or a magazine. Good thing I balance THAT out :-P

I love Where the Wild Things Are...another great book for sure! And when she gets older...The Little House series and definitely Charlotte's Web...my mom used to read it to me before bed.

And for the record...I balance out the spending around these parts, too...;)

Did Lucy enjoy the book? :)

It is never too early to start reading to your kidlets...it gets them used to hearing your voice and makes it a routine. I remember reading The BFG with my parents before I went to bed each night and then Through the Looking Glass and a few other books. We continued that with Nathaniel and it seemed to make him understand that it was time to go to bed to take a nap
