Some people tried to tell me that my pets would cease to be important to me once the baby came.

Whaaa??!?!!? Like when a SECOND child arrives the first ceases to be important?? Whoever told you that doesn't understand love I'm afraid. I'm sorry about Lucy, Mandy. Our kitty is kinda in the same position and while she's ancient it is STILL never, ever easy. xo

Violet's chins ROCK!!

Are you kidding me?!?! I think my relationship with Indy is extremely deep and special because he doesn't ask ANYTHING of me, except that I love him. (which is impossible NOT to do.) That's way less than any human in my life. The love of a pet is pure love-there's no baggage, no agenda and it's unconditional.

I think the people who say your pets won't be important are full of malarkey. Sure, they won't be your entire focus, but they will still be there, and still be important! You don't just stop loving a creature because a new one comes along.

My cats are my babies. There will likely be a period of adjustment, sure, but i'm not going to love my critters any less because i have a human critter to care for. :)
