Title: Lost Without You
Rating: PG
Comic(s): Spider-man
Characters: Peter Parker/Spider-man
A/N: Not only had Peter Parker lost his uncle and his one true love...but now he had lost one of his greatest friends..

He never seemed to be able to escape the rain.
Not then…not now.

There was no thunder and no lightening, just rain; a steady, cold rain that drenched the whole town.

Peter Parker, the man known as Spider-man, landed on the wet concrete of the alley floor and dropped to his knees. His shoulders shook and it was not due to the cold.
Feelings of helplessness and of being lost were tearing him apart inside.

It seemed that no matter where he turned, death soon followed.

“Not you too…not you Cap...” he whimpered, hands over his masked face as he trembled, not caring who happened upon him. Being a super-hero meant nothing to him at the moment. It was just an empty feeling and a mask.
That’s all being a super-hero was.

Everyone was trying to ignore it; trying to forget that it had happened.
But Pete couldn’t.
How could he forget someone he had admired? Someone he had looked up to; someone he had loved.

“Not you…” Pete murmured but it was broken as another sob escaped him, and he rocked back, falling against the wall behind him. The young man pulled his knees up, burying his face against them, as his sobs grew louder. The pain he had been trying to keep at bay engulfed him and his walls crumbled as he finally broke down.

Those passing the alley paid no attention to the sobs they could just make out over the falling rain.
For, in New York City, pain was a way of life.

Even for a super-hero.
