Rating: G
Comic(s): New X-Men
Prompt: N/A
Character(s): Victor Borkowski, Nezhno Abidemi
Summary: They were an odd pair.
A/N: Written as a part of a fic exchange with fullmetal_cute. Sorry it took me this long to get it up!

The pair had yet to say anything to one another. One was deep in meditation and the other was deep in a book about Archaeology.

Now, Vic wasn't usually one to bother people but he wanted a place where no one would interrupt him and since everyone made a point of leaving Nezhno alone during his meditation times, the lizard had slipped into the sitting room to curl up on the couch and read. About thirty minutes after he arrived Victor eventually gave up reading in favor of watching Nezhno. He had always been intrigued by the other young man mostly because of that mysterious air that surrounded him.

It may have also had something to do with the fact that Vic found him handsome.

As this thought crossed his mind the lizard realized he was staring into blue eyes and startled, feeling his cheeks heat up.

“I-ah-sorry. I didn't mean to stare.”

“It is all right.” The Wakandan slowly unfolded and stood, still watching Victor with a faint, faint bit of amusement. “Enjoying your book?”

“Book?” Vic echoed then blinked and looked down, feeling even more embarrassed. That's right. He had been reading hadn't he? A soft sound caught his attention and he looked at Nezhno, surprised to hear the young man chuckling.

So he did have a lighter side.

“I did not realize I was more interesting than a book on ancient history.”

And a sense of humor apparently.

The statement prompted the reptilian teen to make a choking sound, blushing more which only made the Wakandan chuckle again as Vic ducked his head in an attempt to hide it.

“I think you've been hanging around Santo too much, Nezhno.”
