This was not going to end well. Gert knew that already and they hadn't even actually started talking yet.
“So you run with Chase and them?” Julian asked, arms folded over his chest as his eyes finally met hers again.
“I live with them, yes.”
“You don't seem like the type.”
“What's that supposed to mean?” Gert said, resting a hand on Lace's neck as the dinosaur growled, clawed hands flexing as her tail snapped. The telekinetic rolled his eyes.
“Seriously, do you have to get up tight about everything?”
“Do you have to speak before thinking?”
The two glared at each other before Julian scoffed and turned away.
“Whatever, sorry for trying to make conversation.”
“I can imagine it's hard for you to start conversations in general let alone with a female that actually has a brain and doesn't just nod, giggle, and swoon.”
“Bite me.”
“Lace would be happy too.”
