I do believe that it was naturally drawn towards the rocky texture of the wall.

We had the Green Luna moths at Wild Nights.

Every now and then during summer evenings, another gigantic moth will just come out of nowhere around here. It's torso fur will flare bright red. So, I do think these insects know that they have little to fear. (Because, Nature generally keeps to the rule that red means poison.)
