Exactly what I thought, when sighted at a thrift store, some years ago. Knew it was 'probably' a one of a kind item.
Baby Jesus...surrounded by animals. No holy men or most any of the common cast.
What I've never been able to decide is if this was an incredibly well done home craft or a semi-novice, mass production item or a level-x assembly project.
If home brew, it shows an incredible level of detail and love.
If mass produced, there are a number of flaws that one would not expect in line assembly.
It's like some kind of project that Jo-Annes might sell as a Christmas selection. Only, a mix-and-match approach was used.
