It's another head banger of a strange dream...

"So...you think...you're, the best.
But...you're going to die...like, the rest.
Because...you're going to get hurt...by, the test."

What kind of freaky dream-thing was that?!?!?

Oh, let me explain. Those were song lyrics that were playing from a scratchy record by some female voice, that couldn't sing on-key. There was some sort of...erm...'whoooo,whaaaaaa-whoooo,whaaaa' mechanical sound accompanying her singing. (If only I could just pull this song out of my head and MP3 it for creepy, authentic sharable value.) It's still playing in my head and belongs out of a Silent Hill game. It's just that freaky. But, I haven't gotten to the visuals, yet. The dream was about being inside a video game world. Had all those pixel graphic, 3-D sceneries and pixel extras. Kind of how they are flat and slightly squarish, yet have picture details. My character just climbed up a few flights of stairs inside an undescript building. The stairway splits in two directions. One led to a series of doors, with sequential numbering upon them. So, through my character's 1'st person eyes, I walk up and open the first door. It's a small bathroom. To the right, a bald man's head can be seen peeking out of the water of an overflowing bathtub. To the left, a woman stands over the sink, staring into a mirror. Is she putting on make-up? She's in a bath robe. I remember it being overly pink with some kind of flower design scattered about on the fabric. No. It's not make-up. That's a straight edged razor blade in her hand and she's slicing it into her throat. The red blood is just slightly visible. The whole scene is creepy/disturbing, like the man is drowned and the woman is in the throws of ending it all.

My character closes the door. And, darn his curiousity, has to go open the next one. It's the exact same scene. Only, the light over the mirror is barely coming on. It's a fluorescent that's worn out. Another oddity is how the whole scene has changed into a marble finish. Everything and everyone is covered in a layer of marble stone. There's also a hint of dust, everywhere. The darkness only adds to the creepy effect of the room.

My character, again, closes that door and proceeds to the third.

Oh, man. Behind door number three, lay a closet full of Roman style statues of half naked ladies, all singing out like Sirens. Most are staring at each other and a couple at me. My character stumbles back from the door and 'feels' the grip of something. The world starts to spin and that song starts going with those lyrics. My character spins to the right, as if going down a dark hallway. Mirrors surround him. His sports jacket is visible and a kind of blank, expression upon his pasty, white face. There's this sensation that comes over me as the world grows darker and all color is lost. The world keeps spinning and several statues float by in the mirrors. Then, this gigantic figure of The Reaper, comes into the reflection, behind my stoned character. The world goes totally black. "Game over."

Oh, but that is just the end of it. The dream starts out in a car chase scene through a generic city with all the 3-D visuals of a PSx. The image freezes for a second to splash up a graphic that says, "Starski and Hutch". Freeze ends and the chase moves on. I'm in control of the driver, who is in the lead and attempting to make a get away from another, generic car. It's driver is hanging a hand gun out the window and firing, endlessly. My car has a passenger, who is firing back at the pursuing car.

So, after a moment of street driving, I take a side street that goes into this parking structure. One tiny tower with ramp after ramp after...tires squealing as I drive quickly in a circular fashion...up and up and...until we reach the top and it just dead ends. My partner exclaims, "What kind of maniac designed this place? There are no parking spaces! Just ramp after ramp!" The squealing tires of the pursuing car is close behind. So, we whip a donut and descend back down, squeaking by them amidst the narrow ramps and leave the other car behind in the useless parking tower.

We speed out of the tower and take a couple turns to find this tree laiden street that leads to a hotel, I guess. For no reason, we pull into another parking structure, park the car, get out and approach the building. Only, there's a long way to walk. It an area not intended to be driven upon, anyhow. But, why are the pixel people grabbing ahold of pillars that hold up a see through, tinted glass canopy? Because, a tornado is touching down. My character dashes forward, only to be grabbing a pillar. The view migrates back to the other guy and now I'm in control of him. He screams, "Stay put! I'm going for help!" and he dashes under the canopy, making it to the entrance.

Once inside, he's in a small lobby, when a parade of people with the images from '70s and '80s television shows parade by, coming down this winding staircase. (All have that flat, squared look, just like the rest of the dream.) None will even talk to him. So, he ascends the stairs to a second floor and looks out the window. An emergency exit door to a balcony. There's a bunch of glass to see the outside world, through. Yet, despite looking for help, he doesn't use the door, noting a cop is waiting to ambush anyone whom uses said door.

He goes up another couple flights and finds the split in the stairs. Which leads to that Silent Hill situation, where this all started.

What a freaky dream. What's it all mean? Who cares. Now, I'm far more awake then I wanted to be for the last hour, composing all this. At least, that creepy song is fading away...
