And now ladies and gents, another mildly worshiping comment, if you don't mind :P ( ... )

I don't mind mildly worshiping comments at all. My ego might inflate a bit, but my beta has that under control. ;)

Excuse me while I go punch the air over the fact I managed to create some doubt in the mind over the match outcome. That's just like 'whoa' to me. Although, admittedly, I am known for being that little bit evil when it comes to writing. Evil-lite maybe. ;)

Anyway, as usual Sherlock refused to allow John to have the final word, even if he had to hack John's computer to do it. Oh well, nothing that he hasn't done before and this time he's not checking out John's porn. ;)

Yup, sequel starts soon - well tomorrow evening at least - and I'll see what else I can come up with. :)

Thank you. Well, it had to end some time and 105k words seemed plenty. ;)

On the other hand, the characters refused to go back in the box, so expect lots more from them to come. And thanks for commenting throughout. :)

Reading this fic has been...about as close to a religious experience as I've ever had. Seriously. Tennis (the 1999 US Open to be exact) was actually my very first fandom, Sherlock is my most recent obsession, so I can safely say that Tennis + Sherlock = just about the best thing ever. Your fic brought back all the excitement of watching my favorite sport, from the bleachers to the changing room to the court and back. I don't even have words to say how perfect it was. Just that I love everything about this fic, and I can't wait for the sequel.

Oh wow, thank you very much.

(Wait, there's a tennis fandom? Although out of curiousity I have just looked up the 1999 US Open just to see what happened. Looks like it was dominated by Americans and Henman went out in the first round - which sounds just about right. Anyway....)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Writing the story has actually gotten me far more interested in the sport and writing the sequel has really pushed me out of my comfort zone, because apparently, there are other tennis tournaments outside of Wimbledon. Who knew? :D

Anyway, thanks for your lovely comment and I hope you enjoy the sequel just as much.

Oh, 1999 was exciting because I was (and still am, despite bad press and many years) a huge Williams sisters fan--the 1999 US Open was Serena Williams' first grand-slam title. She beat out then-top seed Martina Hingis. The game was magnificent. ^_^

Yes, super excited for the sequel! And glad to hear the story has turned you on to tennis more. It's a great sport--this year should be particularly good with the Olympics held at Wimbledon. Can't wait.

Can't really be coherent right now.

Just. This universe is brilliant. You've kept me guessing, and rooting, and laughing, and gasping. I honestly didn't know John was going to win until he did. I could just have easily seen you pull off a second place for him - a true skill.

I LOVE how canon comes to play in this 'verse - both quotes-wise as characters- and themes-wise. I mean, Moriarty as that filthy number one tennis player? JUST YES. You've just pulled it off so beautifully.

Can't really tell you how much I enjoyed it. A LOT. Imma be there for the sequel.

Thank you. I did consider it. I certainly teased people with it, but no, I just couldn't do that in the end. Not to poor John. Not having already done it to Sherlock.

I was constantly surprised with how well the characters fitted into this verse and how often quotes, characters and themes cropped up without conscious planning on my behalf.

Moriarty as that filthy number one tennis player?

Absolutely. If this is what he's done to Sherlock, I wonder what he might have on Nadal and other players. Moran did beat Nadal after all. ;)

Glad you enjoyed it and the wait for the sequel is almost over.

This is awesome. I read it before (twice actually) at the kinkmeme and loved it then. I simply had to read it again, and even though I knew the end, I still found it the suspense great. You are a brilliant writer. I can't wait for the sequel.

Ah, another kinkmeme reader. Question is, did you notice the changes? :)

Glad you're still enjoying it and I hope the sequel lives up to expectation.

Oh good. This version is far closer to what I actually wanted with the overall effect and it still has all the things I wanted, including the story going back full circle and ending with something John had written.
