just my smelly opinion but it seems like emotions are an indicator.
they are always pointing something out. now that "something" may or may not be true and thats why acting out of emotions is usually a dangerous path. unless your writing a song or painting a picture. what I mean is, I never want to go to work, my emotions show me this at 6 a.m. every morning. to follow my emotions would leave me stranded. alot of the time, our very own emotions are against us, but other times they bring so much.
