* Dean: is told he was saved from Hell because he is the only one who can stop the Apocalypse.

* Says, It’s too big, I’m not strong enough. Find someone else.

* Sam: has ~visions.

* Says, Hey, listen, GOD himself is sending me a message and I have to go back tho Hell and save THE WORLD.

God, that scene with Dean in the hospital is just heartbreaking.

I REALLY hope Dean's storyline starts to come into focus in the second half of this season. When I think about that scene in 'On the Head of a Pin'... he needs more incredible scenes like that.

You know, I'm making up all sorts of storylines for Dean in my head already. Especially imagining how Dean must feel about Sam deciding he has to go to Hell. Again. And Dean being the one left behind. Again.

(I do realize I should probably feel a little more compassion towards Sam, but. No. Sorry, not happening.)

I know that pride was supposed to be Sam's downfall, but this is taking it too far- even for Sam. Of course, unless Sam is so special that God is talking to him, never-mind that God did ignore every other prayer for help, but is somehow sending Sam visions, because it is Sam, you know. Honestly, I can see writers rolling with another special Sam idea. Yeah, if you can't tell, I'm still bitter about last week's episode.

Yeah, it's infuriating and it doesn't make sense at all.

Luckily, Jensen's acting, and Dean's lines, even (or especially) everything he said and did last episode, more than balance it out for me :)

Seriously, Dean was so bloody awesome. He was so ~disturbed by the idea that "imaginary friends" are real :DDD

And then he totally came through for Sully, saving his life, while Sam was just standing around, looking sad or whatever.

Or the way he buried that mermaid, doing all the hard work while Sam was sitting around having flashbacks :DDD
