Yeah, I live in a cluttered hell-hole of an apartment, and I'd never try and tell anyone they have to live like me. I'm always a little relieved to visit someone who also lives in a sty, but that's kind of a selfish motive.
I've also never been able to keep any space I lived in really neat, so that's the real reason I gravitate to messy people like me; it's never fun to overhear: "Oh, yeah; I was over at her place, and it's disgusting."

I have no problem with the way anyone else chooses to live. I know a lot of people who like to keep stuff, and they have a lot of stuff that has sentimental value, or that they want to display. If someone else lives in a cluttered space, it doesn't bother me in the least.
Don't feel guilty about your own living space. It's yours, and if you feel comfortable there, that's all that matters.
I just hate that others think I should live their way (regardless of how they live), and that they need to 'fix' me.
