Deputies Forced to Shoot Escaped Animals

So, some guy had a wild animal preserve, and before he popped himself in the head, he let all the animals loose to fend for themselves (and terrorize civilization).  I saw this on the Detroit news channel last night; I'm surprised they found his body and that he wasn't eaten.

I feel so bad for these creatures

About 12 years ago when I was a journalist in New Jersey there was this woman who had a private game reserve with about 15 tigers in it.

She accidentally left the gate open one afternoon and suddenly there were more than a dozen tigers wandering around a suburban neighborhood.

People lost their shit.

Yeah, it's tragic beyond words.

I'm okay with private reserves, but there should be a lot of oversight. They should have to get regular approvals from someone who makes sure the animals are cared for and safe.
