I am receiving applications for the position of teacher and I have made a startling discovery.
Men apply abruptly, no questions asked, no background information required.
Woman all have a surplus of questions.
I am not going to try and explain it, but it did strike me as odd.

My favorite series of questions, at the end of each job interview:
- Is there anything I haven't asked you, which I should know and which you see as important to let me know?
- Do you have any questions? (if the reply is 'NO', next question)
- Do you know what the job stands for, what you need to do in it (if the reply is 'YES', next question)
- What do you think you have to do in this job?
If you interview, for me one of the golden rules is: first ask a standard question, await the 'standard' reply, and then ask deeper questions on that.
Example:
1. standard: what are your negative points?
reply: practically no negative points, or some fake negative points (too much a perfectionist)
2. deeper: why do you see 'too much a perfectionist' as a negative point? (and then continu from there)
Dig beyond the easy reply-surface :)
