The last time he came through I felt like he was pandering to the audience, a lot of his anecdotes and themes (hicks in a gun store, gosh I hate the war, isn't it great to have liberal ideas, etc) seemed pretty tailored to get a response from an Ann Arbor audience - plus he was preachy throughout.
This time he talked about tolerance for a punching bag (Sen. Craig) and was a little more self-deprecating. Also, his heavy messages and "rock the vote" soap-boxing was contained to the end of the program so it didn't end on a make em' laugh note, but it also meant I enjoyed the first bit more.
I really liked his Ruts story as well as the one about things that eat people. I guess I was more surprised by his program this time around, and that helped, too.
